This flag was made by Mrs. John E. Forbes, grandmother of the donor's husband, to hang from her Fifth Avenue home when the 7th Regiment marched off to the Civil War.
DescriptionWool and cotton hand sewn U.S. flag with thirty-four white cotton stars in the blue wool canton (four rows of seven stars divided by on row of six stars); thirteen red and white cotton stripes; cotton hoist; flag trimmed with red cotton covered bast cord.
