While not much is known about this artwork, Hope and Jim Henson’s creations, the Muppets, crossed paths through the 1970s and 80s. Hope had cameo appearances on The Muppet Show and The Muppet Movie, while The Muppets could be seen on Bob Hope’s TV specials.
Bob Hope and Jim Henson’s Kermit were photographed for the press in the late 1950s, in the pre- Muppets era. The Muppets appeared in 1977 with Bob Hope in a Royal Variety appearance taped in London for Hope’s Christmas special. In 1977, Hope also guest starred on The Muppet Show episode 45. In 1978 the Muppets taped Bob Hope’s 75th Birthday Special which benefited the USO. The Muppets also celebrated Hope’s birthday in 1983 and 1985.
