DescriptionBronze struck plaquette issued for the 1900 Universal Exposition by the Paris Mint; obverse depicts scene after a painting by Albert Besnard, showing standing allegorical figure of France at center, surrounded by seated female figures representing various sciences, arts, and professions; at right is procession of draped figures moving toward France, who is blessing them with palm branch; inscription above: "LA.FRANCE.ACCVELLE./ET.COVRONELLE.GENIE/DES.DEVX.MONDES."
