These trousers were worn by George A. Zabriskie (1868-1954). He was a descendent of Albert Zabriskie, who came from Poland in 1662 to settle in New Amsterdam. During World War I, George served as adviser to the government on the commodities of flour and sugar. He became a life member of the Society in 1920, was elected treasurer in 1929, and was chosen president in 1939.

DescriptionBlack wool dress trousers with 2 black silk stripes (1" wide) down the side of each leg; 6 belt loops around the waistband, 6 button fly has a tab off to the left at the top which fastens to an interior button, vertical slit pockets behind the rear stripe at the hip; 2 horizontal slit pockets at the rear on each hip; waistband lined with white silk, with 6 horn buttons around the inside of the waistband, pockets lined with twill-weave cotton.
