DescriptionDress hat with white wool crown with flat, roughly circular top and visor with oak leaf sprays embroidered in gold metallic thread on black felt ground; gilded metal insignia in the form of a shield-breasted eagle surmounted by a banner and a disk with thirteen stars; chin strap made of gold metallic cloth tape with leather backing, secured at either side by a button embossed with insignia similar to type attached to front of hat.
Markingsprinted: on lining: "Royal Uniforms / 257 FOURTH AVE. / NEW YORK CITY" in relief: on front insignia: "E PLURIBUS / UNUM" (on banner)
