According to a note found with this bracelet, it belonged to Emily N. Turner, sister of Sophie A. Turner of Brooklyn, New York. Sophie was sister in law to John Pintard's granddaughter.
DescriptionKnotted hairwork bracelet with gold clasp fastener with oculus at the center and fittings for safety chain (missing); a row of spiral design runs the center of the bracelet, flanked by rows of herringbone design; the clasp and fittings are engraved with acanthus leaves, inscription on reverse.
MarkingsEngraved on reverse of clasp: "E.N.T. / 1846."
