DescriptionRed leather rectangular sewing case with four flat sides, the front has a pointed flap with two green silk ribbons attached at the center for closure; when opened, there is a small box along one side, one half has a cover that opens and there is a storage compartment, the other half is a pin cushion, there is a sewing book at the foot of the box with three leaves and holding needles, the outer end opposite the flap is a envelope-type pocket, the inside is lined alternately with red leather and green silk.
Markingshandwritten: at the outer end of one ribbon: "Mrs. Martha Husbands Smith / Hartwick & Rochester, N.Y."
