This card case belonged to Sarah Ellen Hoppock (Mrs. Henry S. Cotheal) of New York, the grandmother of the donor.
DescriptionSeamed silver card case; rectangular body with rounded corners and scalloped sides; hinged lid with bezel; engraved foliate scrolls in the corners, wheel turned wave decoration all over the body; c-scroll cartouche on the front center of the body engraved, "S. E. Cotheal" in script; no maker's marks.
