Landscape painter Marjorie Portnow (b.1942) was given these swipe card instructions to assist her in accessing her artist's studio on the 91st floor of the North Tower of the World Trade Center. Her studio was made available by the "World Views" artist-in-residency program launched in 1997 by the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, in conjunction with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. "World Views" provided free studio space for a six-month period to emerging visual artists.
