This identification card was used by construction worker Salvatore Romano for ID during the rescue and recovery efforts at the World Trade Center immediately following the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Romano had done construction at the World Trade Center six months prior to the attack and used his old identification for access to "ground zero," the site of the devastation.
