BiographyEmmeline Dore Heckscher was the daughter of John G. Heckscher and Cornelia Lawrence (Whitney) Heckscher. Miss Heckscher married Edgerton Leigh Winthrop, Jr., a lawyer and banker in New York. The couple had one child, Muriel Egerton Winthrop (Mrs. Harold Aymar Sands). Mrs. Winthrop was a member of the Colony Club and was a founder of the Girl's branch of the Public School Athletic League.
