This silver service was presented to William Sulzer (1863-1941), the former governor of New York State, by his Congressional District on his 50th birthday in 1913.

DescriptionSilver cold-meat fork with a slightly upturned pointed handle with a chamfered border, threaded shield reserve engraved, "S" in gothic script with embossed laurel garland around on the front and a full midrib on the underside; shallow bowl with two paisley-shaped piercings and three curved and pointed tines; arched drop; maker's marks stamped on the underside of the handle.

Markingsengraved: on the handle: "S" in gothic script stamped: on the underside of the handle: Native-American bust conforming, "STERLING" in a scrolled cartouche
