DescriptionClear glass half-spherical paperweight, hollow, with acid-etched words on top surface: "American Silk Spinning Co. / Providence R.I." Inside glass dome is a silk moth, a silk worm in a glass tube, silk worm eggs, a cocoon, and samples of fiber marked: "combed stock"; "spun silk"; and "dyed spun silk."
MarkingsPaper glued to the bottom gives the history and explains the process of silk making.
