A castle is on a precipice at the left. This and the two pencil sketches which follow are from a collection of sketches which belonged to Thomas Pritchard Rossiter (q.v.), the grandfather of the donor. Rossiter accompanied Kensett when the latter sailed for England in 1840 for Kensett's European sojurn which lasted until 1847.
