DescriptionDark blue transfer printed pearlware plate with slightly scalloped edges; the central image depicts a large ship, the Cadmus at anchor with the American flag flying; a smaller boat approaches the shore and three figures stand in the foreground; the border pattern is composed of shells and has an irregular center.
Markingsimpressed: in back of plate: medallion with eagle and shield at center:" E WOOD & SONS BURSALEM WARRANTED" inscribed paper label: affixed and back reads "Cadmus/ at Anchor"
