DescriptionWrought and cast silver salver; flat, circular dish with applied, convex sides and flared rim; applied, cast gadrooned and scroll band with shell and leaf motifs applied around the edge of the rim; circular reserve in the center of the dish surrounded by engraved foliate scroll decoration; dish seated on three cast paw feet with anthemion joints; maker's mark on the base.
MarkingsMaker's mark: stamped on base: in a circle, "FLETCHER & GARDINER." in roman letters around, "PHILA" in a rectangle Inscriptions: engraved at center of obverse in form of circular reserve surrounded by mantling of vertical scrolled swags, surmounted by scrolled bracket with foliate crest, with underneath support of diaper pattern pedestal and scrolled foliate brackets, set on background of floral garlands and shading.
