This is a fatigue shirt probably worn by Samuel Verplanck Hoffman (1842-1887), whi served with Company K, 7th Regiment, New York National Guard.
DescriptionGray wool flannel long-sleeved fatigue shirt; double collar with "K" applied to corners; buttons half-way down the front with 3 buttons, a pocket at each breast which buttons closed (no flaps); open flase cuff sleeve with one button at each wrist, "7 / NY" applied to the shoulders; shallow split at the side seams, with rounded corners; narrow yoke across the back of the shoulders, back in one panel.
