The Wedgwood factory in Etruria, England produced a series of commemorative souvenir plates called "Old New York" for the 1939 New York World's Fair. These plates commemorated the inauguration of George Washington at Federal Hall New York, April 30, 1789 and the New York World's Fair 1939, 150 years later. Each plate features an elaborate floral border surrounding an image from Old New York.
