Ann McWhorter, the daughter of the Rev. Alexander McWhorter and Mary (Cumming) McWhorter, became the second wife of the Rev. George Ogilvie (1758-97), rector of Christ Church, New Brunswick, New Jersey, and Christ Church, Rye, New York. She was born in Newark, New Jersey, where her father was pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. Her portrait was a gift to the Society from her great-grand-nephew.
