DescriptionArchitecture: A depiction of the Manhattan Iron Works as it stood on the east shore of the Hudson River near west 143rd Street. Tinel's view was taken from the French Institute, a private school situated west of Fort Washington between 172nd and 173rd streets. Carmansville was an area roughly located north of 130th Street between 8th Ave. and the Hudson River.
