Louisa Van Renssalaer Baylies

BiographyLouisa Van Renssalaer Baylies was the daughter of Alexander Van Rensselaer and Louisa (Barnwell) Van Rensselaer of New York and a descendant of Kiliaen Van Rensselaer, the patron of Rensselacrwyck. In 1887, she was married to Edmund L. Baylies, a lawyer and corporate officer. Mrs. Baylies was involved with the Cathedral of St. John the Divine and was chairman of the women's division for raising funds to continue its contribution. After her husband's death in 1932, she resided with the Countess Craven, the former Cornelia B. Martin of New York, at Hamstead Marshall, Newburg England.
