This bracelet belonged to Josephine Frederica Van Beuren, connected with the Van Beuren House formerly on West 14th Street in New York City. The locket contains a daguerreotype of an unidentified man.
DescriptionBrown woven hair bracelet with gold clasp fastener / locket, safety chain and charms; the bracelet is tubular with medallion shaped fittings at the ends and locket / clasp, all with scroll and floral design; locket has daguerreotype of a man inside beneath glass; the safety chain has two woven hair charms with metal fittings, one is in the form of a cross, the other is in the form of an acorn; inscription on reverse of locket / clasp.
