DescriptionThin die struck coin, of white metal; obverse reads around the outside edge "2 SKILLINGS DANSKE / HI AB" at center a oval shaped shield with the Danish royal arms, three lions 'passant' accompanied by nine hearts, all under a crown, the arms are framed with the date "1788"; reverse reads around the outside edge: "D. G. DAN NOR VAN GOT REX" (meaning 'By the Grace of God, King of Denmark Norway, Vandals and the Goths' the King of Denmark's title) at center a large crowned 'C' inter twined with a '7' a monogram for King Christian VII of Denmark (r. 1766-1808).
