Probably made for the marriage of Mary E. Babcock to William L. Morris who were married in 1827.
DescriptionOne of a set of six silver table forks with upturned, threaded fiddle handles with short midribs on the front and the Morris family crest, a tower in flames, engraved on the underside of the handle; flared shoulders and four curved tines on each; maker's marks stamped on the underside of the handle.
Markingsstamped: on the underside of the handle: "B * G" in a rectangle, lion passant in a rctangle, "W" in a rectangle, bust in a rectangle
