On October 5, 1813, Harrison led his army against British soldiers and Indian warriors at Moraviantown along the Thames River in Ontario, Canada. The Americans won a total victory, with British soldiers surrendering and the Indians scattering after the death of their leader, Tecumseh. This was one of the most important land battles of the War of 1812 in the American Northwest. General Harrison's victory marked the end of Tecumseh's Confederacy and the downfall of the Indians in Ohio.
