DescriptionBronze struck medal with obverse showing standing figure of Uncle Sam at center with mountainous landscape with fir trees in background, flanked by faces of two soldiers, at left, and those of early European settler, a pioneer, a Native American, Washington and Lincoln, at right; legend above: "THANK GOD FOR AMERICA GUARDIAN OF FREEDOM"; inscription within scalloped reserve at lower right: "Uncle Sam/SESQUICENTENNIAL/1812-1962."
