Abigail Cornell, the daughter of Comfort and Elizabeth (Embree) Cornell, was married to Jacob Doty (1772-99), a merchant, on June 9, 1795. She married her second husband, Israel Corse (1769-1842), a tanner and leather dealer in New York and later a director of the Franklin Bank, on April 11, 1810. Her portrait was a gift to the New-York Historical Society from her great-granddaughter.
