DescriptionMolded blue transfer printed plate with slightly scalloped edges; border pattern composed of stylized butterflies, scrolls, bands, and geometric shapes;at the center is a cartouche with a profile of George Washington wearing a laurel wreath; around the cartouche are scrolls, flowers, and a crown and a bird.
Markingsprinted: in blue below cartouche: "EXITUS ACTA PROBAT", "George Washington" printed: in blue on back: "Spode's contribution to the/George Washington Bicentennial 1932,/produced in a limited edition of 2500,/each piece numbered/No.271"; maker's mark: "COPELAND/SPODE/ENGLAND/New Stone"
