These objects were found in 1892 by A.C. Chenowith at the British military camp on the Dyckman farm, at 204th Street between Seaman and Prescott Avenues in Washington Heights, Manhattan. The military buttons were worn on the coats and vests of British privates stationed at the camp during the occupation of New York City.
