According to the accession records, this is a "Paul Revere" type lantern.
DescriptionCylindrical tin candle lantern with conical top and hinged door on one side; pierced with small dots and dashes arranged in a scalloped band around top, in an arched panel on door, and in four contiguous arched panels on sides; circular band of sheet metal joined to point of cone serves as handle.
Markingshandwritten in pencil: on paper label affixed to bottom: "A. H. S."
