These nails were used in building Trinity Church, located on Broadway at the head of Wall Street.
DescriptionTwo wrought iron nails from Trinity Church; nails have square heads and square, tapering shafts.
Markingsink inscription: on envelope containing nails: "6/14/47 / These were picked up by a/laborer and presented to me. They/come from some old fixtures of/Trinity. I gave a few to Mr. Upjohn, /the architect, who said he'd consult Hammecher-Schlemmer or someone else. But Mr. U. is now ill./The NY. H. S. may have them./Yours ROBERT SEELAV/250 W. 57th St" ink inscription: on flap of envelope: "The look/hand-made/RS"
