DescriptionA wood box with a dark blue paper label on the side printed with a image of a building and in red and white "Bixby's Best Shoe Blacking/ S.M. Bixby & Co./ 194 & 195 Hester St./ New York/ 3 Doz. Bixby's 'Best' ". Inside the lid is a paper label with a color street scene with a well dressed man standing in front of a building marked "Bixby's/ Steam Blacking Manufactory" having his shoes shined by a kneeling boy surrounded by a group of shoeshine boys fighting, smoking and carrying boxes of Bixby Blacking with the caption "New York Boot Black Brigade". It reads in black and red "Bixby's 'Best' Blacking/ New York City.
