This coat is part of a uniform worn by Kenneth C. Miller when he served in the 107th Infantry Regiment of the New York National Guard, 1940-1947. He was 1st Lieutenant when he was issued this uniform and he rose to the rank of Captain, but was breveted on the reserve list in 1947 with the rank of Major. Miller has donated a substantial collection of N.Y.N.G. uniforms to the Society.
DescriptionDark brown leather Sam Browne belt; vertical rectangular metal buckle at one end with double-tongued chape, opposite end is bell-shaped, with 2 hooks near the end, one capstand-shaped stud closer inward, followed by metal fing and sliding leather cuff behind; shoulder strap near the center attached to leather leather loop anchored to metal ring, nearly square metal buckle at the end with single-tongue chape, with leather strap extending beyond with capstand-shaped stud.Markingstooled: obverse, one end: "RIDABOCK & CO. / NEW YORK"
