Description"Chasseur pattern" gray wool felt forage cap; black patent leather visor which is flat and somewhat rectangular; soft crown with circular, countersunk top with black braid adjacent to edge; vertical strips of black braid on center front, center back, and either side of crown, joining a horizontal strip lining upper edge of black felt band at base of crown; gilded metal numeral "7" pinned to front of cap; chin strap made of narrow black cloth tape joined at either side by a gilded metal button embossed with initials "NG" centered between branches of laurel; brown leather sweatband and black textile lining.Markingsgilded metal pin: on front of cap: "7"
