A note found inside the case indicates that these shirt studs are originally from the Edward Gibert Schermerhorn family.
DescriptionThree matching coral and gold shirt studs in case; each stud is a coral rosette in a gold setting with circular shank on reverse; red leather case with arched lid hinged at the back and with metal clasp fastener center front, inside lid is lined with white satin, box is lined with white velvet with slots to secure each stud.
MarkingsStamped inside lid at center: "BLACK, STARR & FROST / 5TH AVE. COR. 39 ST. / NEW YORK"
