DescriptionSummer dress helmet made of white felt over cork, with peaks in front and back, both angled downward; diamond-shaped gilded metal insignia with number "9" in applied white metal at center; gilded metal scale chin strap with white leather backing joined at either side to hooks attached to buttons embossed with crossed rifles; leather sweatband; gray horsehair plume in ornate gilded metal holder with embossed shield-breasted eagle below a single star.Markingsmaker's label: affixed inside top of crown: "RIDABOCK & CO. / FORMERLY / BAKER & McKENNEY / 141 GRAND ST.
