John Ramage
Date: ca. 1748 - 1802
Remarks: Ramage entered the Dublin School of Artists in 1763. He was a resident of Nova Scotia in 1772 and 1774. He was known as a goldsmith and miniaturist in the Boston area in 1775. Because of his Loyalist leanings, he moved to New York City in 1777, where he lived until 1794 and achieved considerable success as a minaturist. Financial difficulties forced him in 1794 to flee to Montreal where he spent his remaining years.
