Anne, Queen of Great Britain
Date: 1665 - 1714
Remarks: Anne, the last Stuart monarch, took to the throne of England, Ireland and Scotland in 1702. In 1707, the Act of Union was passed, uniting England, Scotland and Wales into Great Britain, making Anne the first Queen of Great Britain. Her reign was dominated by the War of Spanish Succession, (known in America as the French and Indian Wars). It was during her reign that artists, writers and thinkers such as Sir Christopher Wren, Sir Isaac Newton, Swift and Pope were active. - Source:
