William Walton Woolsey

Remarks: William Walton Woolsey was the son of Benjamin Woolsey, Jr. and Anne (Muirson) Woolsey and a descendent of George Woolsey who came to America about 1620. Woolsey married the sister of Reverend Timothy Dwight. William's sister Elizabeth married the artist, William Dunlap. Woolsey was an officier of the New York Chamber of Commerce and of the Manufacturing Society of New York City. He was president of the Eagle Fire Insurance Company and director of the Merchants' Bank.
