Edith Malvina Keteltas Wetmore
Remarks: Edith Malvina Keteltas Wetmore was the daughter of George Peabody Wetmore and Edith Malvina (Keteltas) Wetmore (ca. 1850-1927). Her father served as governor of Rhode Island (1885) and was elected to the United States senate (1895-1913). Miss Wetmore lived on the family estate in Newport and never married. She was a philanthropist that supported the Metropolitan Musem of Art, Yale University, and the New York Public Library. After her death the family estate Chateau-suf-mer, in Newport, was willed to the Society for the Preservation of New England Antiquities.
