Ebenezer Stevens

Remarks: Ebenezer Stevens was the son of Ebenezer and Elizabeth (Weld) Stevens of Boston. Stevens was one of the participants of the Boston Tea Party in 1773. In 1778 he served under Lafayette at Yorktown. Following the Revolution, Stevens became a successful merchant in New York City. He was the founder of the Tammany Society. Stevens married first Rebecca Hodgon (d.1783), and then Mrs. Lucretia (Ledyard) Sands.
