Irwin Silver

Remarks: Irwin Silver grew up in Bedford Stuyvesant, frequented candy store run by father from 1940-1950. Most of his friends were African American then. Later moved to Queens. Worked for Court system and as a parole officer, until retirment in 2002. Also active career as still photographer. He studied film at New York University and was a cameraman on some anti-war films during Vietnam War era. "Profiles of a Peace Parade", dir. by David Loebweis; "No Vietnamese ever called me a Nigger", both b&w films shown on WNET, Ch.13 TV.
