Peter Gerard Stuyvesant
Date: 1778 - 1847
Remarks: Peter Gerard Stuyvesant was the younger son of Petrus Stuyvesant and Margaret (Livingston) Stuyvesant. Stuyvesant gave the land for St. George's Church on 16th Street and gave Stuyvesant Park to the City of New York. He was a founder and the seventh president of the N-YHS from 1836 to 1839. Stuyvesant married Susan Barclay (ca.1785-1805) in 1803 and Helen Sarah Rutherfurd in 1809. He had no children and his estate passed to his nephew, Hamilton Fish.
