Richard W. Rummell
Date: 1948 - 1924
Remarks: Little is known about the NY illustrator and designer Ricard W. Rummell, bornin in 18148. Probably a commercial artist, he worked in a NY studio at 9 Watten Street from the 1890s up until about 1907. Rummell seems to have executed much of his work from sketches, photographs, and notes, when recording events in and arond Manhattan. Rummell did not confine himself to NYC and its vicinity, however, for his watercolor and gouache view of a farm in Portland, ME appeared on the market in 1875. Rummel died in Brooklyn NY on June 4, 1924, at the home of his daughter at 75 Hanson Place. Obit: NY Times, 6/6/1924.
