Nelson A. Rockefeller

Remarks: Nelson Aldrich Rockefeller, grandson of John D. Rockefeller, held a number of government posts and also served as the director of Rockefeller Center in his early career. In 1959, he was elected governor of New York and continued to serve until 1973. In 1960, 1964, and 1968, Rockefeller unsuccessfully campaigned for the Republican presidential bid. In 1974, he was appointed Vice President under Gerald R. Ford. Rockefeller died in 1979, two years after leaving office. -Source:
