Mary Ripley
Date: ca. 1866 - 1938
Remarks: Mary B. Hyde was the daughter of Henry Baldwin Hyde, founder of the Equitable Life Asssurance Society, and Annie (Fitch) Hyde. She was the sister of James Hazen Hyde. Miss Hyde married Sidney Dillon Ripley (d. 1905), treasurer and director at the firm. The couple had four children: Henry B.H. Ripley, Sidney Dillon Ripley, Jr., James H. Ripley, and Anna Dillon Ripley (Countess De Viel Castil). In 1912, after the death of her husband, Mrs. Ripley married Charles R. Scott. She and Mr. Scott travelled to France, and did volunteer work during World War I.
