Chester DeWitt Pugsley

Remarks: Pugsley was the son of Cornelius and Emma Catherine (Gregory) Pugsley. After receiving his A.B. (1909) and his law degree from Harvard, he joined the New York law firm of Morris and Plante; from 1917 to 1927 he was a member of the firm of Rabenold and Scribner. His career as a banker began in 1915 when he was elected a director of the Westchester County Bank of Peekskill. He also served as a trustee of the Peekskill Military Academy. Pugsley was a generous philanthropist and made numerous contributions to Harvard and other colleges, primarily for the establishment of scholarships for foreign students to study international law.
