Frances Osgood
Date: 1811 - 1850
Remarks: Frances was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Ingersoll) Foster Locke. In 1835 she married the artist Samuel S. Osgood. She had a successful literary career and her first volume of poems was "A Casket of Fate" followed by a second volume, "A Wreath of Wild Flowers from New England. She was a close friend of Edgar Allan Poe and the two were frequently together at literary gatherings. She was the mother of three. She died of consumption in 1850.
