Mildred Morris

Remarks: Mildred Morris was the elder daughter of Felix William James Morris (1845-1900), the character actor, and Mary B. (Shoot) Morris (d. 1954), an actress whose stage name was Florence Wood. Mildred Morris was engaged by Richard Mansfield (q.v.) for the role of Prince Edward in Richard the Third. For three years she played the role of Wendy Moira Angela Darling in Sir James M. Barrie's Peter Pan starring Maude Adams (q.v.), which opened in Washington on October 17, 1905, and in New York on November 6, 1905. She later starred with her own sketch in vaudeville. Toward the end of her life Miss Morris lived with her mother and sister Felice, who was also an actress, in Princeton, New Jersey, where she died.
