Remarks: World renowned sculptor; Studied art in Vienna. He was the first living artist to have a one man show at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1947. The sculptor's portraits possesses both power and grace. The designs of his carved wooden reliefs were notable for inventiveness and his religious pieces revealed the sensitivity and devotion of their creator. Also the resident sculptor at the University of Notre Dame.
